ITV's plans to launch a dedicated film channel have been put on hold according to reports.

The Broadcast magazine says "ITV sources have begun to question whether the channel would be popular with advertising sales houses which already have a range of movie channels at their disposal."

ITV is looking at replacing the axed ITV Play channel with a film channel said to be the preferred option.
