Sky's movie channels are to be reorganised into genre-based channels from April.
Currently the channels are called Sky Movies 1 to 10 and Sky Cinema 1 and 2 but from 4th April, the channels will relate to the specific film genres: comedy, family, classic, action and thriller, sci-fi and horror, drama, indie, modern greats and premieres.
Following the rebranding, Sky's movie channels will remain located on their current EPG positions on the Sky platform, renamed and repackaged in order to reflect their new genre focus.
Sophie Turner Laing, deputy MD at Sky Networks said: "Sky Movies offers the best film experience available in the home and with the changes announced today, viewers can enjoy even greater control over the films they want to watch."
Sky has also announced that a selection of its movies will be part of Sky's video on demand service, Sky Anytime, which launches in March.
