BSkyB cleared over high EPG charges

It seems that BSkyB has been cleared of allegations that it overcharged Rapture for EPG listings on Sky Digital.

Ofcom, the broadcasting regulator has published a draft decision today according to MediaGuardian stating that Sky's charges had been "fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory".

Youth entertainment channel Rapture TV, which broadcasts on EPG 193, claimed Sky had breached its regulatory obligations by charging excessive charges for EPG listings on Sky Digital.

Rapture said its £76,800 EPG bill was "unduly high" given that its annual turnover was under £150,000.

Rapture submitted an official complaint to Ofcom last September.

Following the draft decision today, Ofcom is inviting responses by the end of next week.
