Reports at the weekend have suggested that BSkyB chief executive James Murdoch is to quit the satellite company to take up a role at father Rupert Murdoch's News Corp.

However, BSkyB played down the reports as "just speculation" and declined to comment further.

According to the Mail on Sunday, James Murdoch is to be replaced at Sky by head of Sky Italia, Tom Mockridge.
