Rapture to remain on EPG as BSkyB threatens

Rapture has confirmed to SkyDigiOnline.co.uk that BSkyB is no longer threatening to remove Rapture TV’s EPG over a dispute on EPG fees.

Last week, we reported that Rapture had submitted an official complaint to media regulator Ofcom about the high amount Sky charges for its EPG.

But now it appears that BSkyB is waiting for further developments from Ofcom.

Rapture has submitted evidence that BSkyB previously charged much lower fees for the same service and is in the process of lodging a complaint with Ofcom.

"We believe BSkyB to be in breach of both the Code of Practice on Electronic Programme Guides and Communications Act 2003, and we have provided evidence to that effect to Ofcom,’ says Rapture owner David Henry. ‘We hope that a full investigation by regulator Ofcom will lead to a industry wide agreement on what level of fee is fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory."

"If BSkyB had gone ahead with its initial threat to remove our EPG license from today, we would not only have disappointed our loyal fans, many of which flooded our website and channel with messages of support when they found out, but also risked the jobs of our employees."
