BSkyB wins Premiership mobile rights

BSkyB awarded Premiership mobile rightsBSkyB has scooped another package from the Premier League football rights to show the Barclays Premiership matches on mobile phones.

According to the MediaGuardian The Premier League will today announce that BSkyB have been awarded the rights beating off competition from a consortium backed by the UK's five mobile phone networks.

BSkyB's last-minute swoop means it has snapped up parts of all three types of rights auctioned by the Premier League - TV, online and mobile.

The current three-year deal for highlights of Premier League matches on mobile phones is held exclusively by 3 and Vodafone.
