London TV to leave Sky Digital platform

Officials at London TV have confirmed to Sky Digi Online of the imminent closure of London TV on Sky Digital.

London TV will be removed from Sky Digital EPG 277 on 13th March due to a change in marketing strategy.

A spokesperson said: "London TV has now moved to a full service broadband site. Visit London decided that a broadband service would better enable them to target international visitors - their main target audience. The site, www.visitlondon.com is immediately available to 137 million broadband users around the world."

Sky Digi Online were also informed that programming from the channel will continue to be broadcast on airlines and in hotel rooms, black cabs, trains, buses throughout the city and through "on demand" television services such as Home Choice. These outlets have accumulated a potential audience of 22 million since launch and Visit London plans to raise this universe to 65 million viewers by the end of 2006.
