ITV plans new channels

ITV is set to unleash a further two channels next year it's been revealed.

According to Broadcast, the broadcaster is looking at launching channels in the shopping and gaming market to provide an alternative to traditional advertising revenues.

Jonathan Lewis, ITV's director of digital channels has previously stated that shopping, betting and gaming channels as examples of future channels.

Yesterday at a Broadcasting Press Guild lunch ITV chief exec Charles Allen confirmed, "We are looking at transactional revenues through ITV Play and shopping."

ITV4 is also set to launch on Sky in November.
