Tony Lit lands place in final six in Hayes voting

Sunrise Radio's former Managing Director, Tony Lit is one of six candidates fighting to be the Conservative Party’s official representative for the Hayes and Harlington region.

In 2007, Tony Lit was in a similar position, competing for a seat in the Ealing Southall by-election, which he eventually lost.

It is likely that Lit will give up his post as at Sunrise Radio as both roles will be conflict to each other.

In 2001 Tony Litt's father, Avtar Lit, owner of Sunrise Radio stood as an Independent candidate in the general election in Ealing Southall. Sunrise Radio was fined £10,000 by the Radio Authority for breaching the Broadcasting Act 1990 with an interview with Dr Lit in advance of his proposed candidacy.

The other five fighting for the Hayes/Harlington seat are:
Gurmaj Dhillon - Former Treasury official who has advised the Conservatives on police reform and youth justice policy
Lindsey Hall - Westminster councillor and former TV producer and presenter
Sheela Mackintosh - Deputy Chairman of Beaconsfield Conservatives who was a member of the CSJ's Family Law Commission
Naman Purewal - Deputy Chairman of Feltham and Heston Conservatives; contested Knowsley North and Sefton East in 2005
Scott Seaman-Digby - Hayes-born and bred, a Hillingdon councillor since 1998 and a management consultant

A special general meeting to select the candidate will be held on Sunday 7th March.
