NDTV Imagine to launch two new dramas in March

'Jamunia' to launch on NDTV ImagineNDTV Imagine is set to launch two new dramas in March, BizAsia.co.uk can exclusively confirm.

The shows will replace 'Swayamavar 2: Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jaayega', which will exit on the channel towards the end of March.

First up, 'Jamunia' (pictured above) will takeover the 21:00 slot, which will result in new entrant 'Devi' shifting to 21:30. 'Jamunia' explores territories and locations previously unseen on TV, shot on location in Chhattisgarh. Kawardha Palace will be used as location for 'Jamunia's' marital house for the duration of the show.

A description of the show given by the channel is, "In exchange for money, a young girl Jamunia is married off by her maternal uncles into the evil Gajadhar Raut’s family. Unknown to her, the Raut house is cursed as no woman has ever stayed alive. Even as a sword constantly dangles over her life; Jamunia attempts to carry the burden of pulling out her family from this vicious bane. Will Jamunia succeed or will she be yet another innocent victim of the curse which befalls her marital home...this is the story of Jamunia."

'Kashi – Ab Naa Rahe Tera Kagaz Kora' will fill the weekday 22:00 slot. It is about 'Kaashi' and her father Baburam who strive to fight against all odds and attain the dream of a respectful life. The show is filmed in Dholkipur by the same producers of Colors' hit show 'Uttaran' - Filmfarm Productions.

The channels's new weeknight schedule will kick off on Monday 22nd March as follow:
21:00 'Jamunia'
21:30 'Devi'
22:00 'Kashi – Ab Naa Rahe Tera Kagaz Kora'
