Lit Corp to expand Buzz Asia nationwide?

Buzz Asia to go national? The UK's newly rebranded station, Buzz Asia, formerly Club Asia, is likely to go national on digital radio later this year.

According to reliable sources at the Lit Corporation, there are plans to expand the London based station to other cities in the UK.

Lit Corporation, the parent company of Sunrise Rado, Kimsat Radio, Buzz Asia and Punjabi Radio wants to increase the presence of its youth orientated station - this at a time when its national "youth targeted" rival, BBC Asian Network is under considerable pressure to improve its output after disappointing RAJAR figures recently.

Buzz Asia launched last October after it clinched the licence from Humerah Ahmad and Sumerah Srivastava, previous owners of Club Asia. The station was previously available on Sky Digital before being removed in May last year. It now looks more than likely that Buzz Asia will launch on various platforms to extend the reach of the station.

Earlier this month, Buzz Asia received its first RAJAR listening figures, which showed a slow start for the station - a weekly reach of 167,000. Buzz Asia's future will be clearer once more RAJAR results are released. Data for two quarters indicate a better review of a station's status.

Keep it with BizAsia.co.uk for the exclusive launch announcement on Buzz Asia's UK presence.

BuzzAsia is a massive FLOP I Loved ClubAsia the music and DJ's were Great. Even though MissyD is still there under a spoof name which even confuses her LOL there's NO quality now. ALL the Lit radios sound the same and half the air time is filled with adverts with backward desi accents? I think the only way we are going to get proper sounds is online radio channels that can be the pulse of the listener and not force fed by commercial Big Brother from Southall. Also Sunrise TV why run a channel that belongs in the 1960's needs to be relocated to the nerd history section EPG? :)
