9XM makes exit from Sky Digital platform

9XM has been removed from the Sky Digital platform but continues to run programmes off the Sky EPG.

Today's developments signal 9XM's imminent departure from UK shores. As BizAsia.co.uk exclusively reported last month, 9XM will cease broadcasting in the UK this month to make way for India's leading Hindi channel, Colors. The latter bought the EPG slot from INX Network a few weeks ago.

Even though 9XM is still broadcasting off the Sky EPG, it will terminate the loop of shows to make way for tests for Colors in the coming days.

Colors is India's number one channel and so the market interest from VIEWASIA and ZEE Network does not at all come surprising. In India, Multi Screen Media distributes Colors as a part of its One Alliance network, which is what Multi Screen Media UK is hoping for here too. However, ZEE Network UK wants to spruce up its own package to entice new subscribers, so it remains to be seen who will win the race for Colors UK.

For viewers who wish to continue watching 9XM off the Sky EPG before ceasing UK transmission, follow the steps below:

-> Using your Sky Digi remote, go to Services Menu
-> System Setup (4)
-> Add Channels (4)
-> Enter frequency: 11.427 (V), FEC: 2/3, SR: 27500
-> Find Channels and Press SELECT
-> Highlight "DD-India" service and press Yellow button.
-> Return to Services Menu
-> Other Channels (6) on STB / (8) on Sky+
-> "DD-India" should be listed and available
