BBC Radio 4 after more ethnic listeners

Radio 4 wants more ethnic listenersBBC Radio 4 is looking to capture more ethnic listeners in a bid to reach a wider audience.

A report in today's Daily Mail suggested that the BBC station will commission material aimed at black or Asian listeners, after previously being been criticised for being 'too white'.

The report added that the station controller Mark Damazer met race equality campaigners to discuss how to make its workforce more diverse.

He admitted there was also a lack of black and Asian presenters, but warned this will take time to change as many slots are taken by established stars.

A Radio 4 spokesman denied that any shows would be axed in favour of 'more diverse' programming.

NO.. please NO!!

Radio 4 is great a welcome Oasis in the storm of multi-cultural trite. Please leave it alone.

There are enough media platforms following the populist idea of positive discriminiation.
