Sunrise Radio set to launch Buzz Asia next week

Sunrise Radio to launch Buzz Asia next weekSunrise Radio has announced that it will be launching its newly acquired youth station, Buzz Asia, next week.

On-air promos running across the Sunrise Radio channels say Buzz Asia launches "next week" and with it are inviting "young, happening, street-wise presenters who have attitude and something to say to the world" to audition for a chance to front a show on the new London station.

According to the promo, the station is also holding auditions at Radio House on Sunday (18th October) at 14:00. The promo has been recorded in the voices of former Club Asia presenters, Missy D and Anushka Arora (now Deepa Rai on Sunrise Radio).

The station previously known as Club Asia will initially be available through 963 and 972AM (in London) and online (worldwide). There are also plans to expand the reach of the station by making it available on DAB digital radio.

The station is likely to launch on Monday morning (19th October), however we await for confirmation from Sunrise Radio.

At the time of filing this article, BizAsia.co.uk was awaiting a response from Sunrise Radio.

Surely NO ONE is interested in this station now!

This is so sad. I miss Club Asia, Sunrise will just use this as one its advertising money making projects.
I hate Sunrise and their should be a law or something to stop these Litts from having a monopoly over our Asian London stations. Such a sad occasion. :(

Just look at the previous comments on this news! I'm not listening in!

I suspect that the old Lits' attempt to run a fun station for youngsters will end in the kind of dry non-entity that EasternEye has become under Garavi Gujarat.
I know that some presenters on Club Asia were a bit naff at times and the quality was a bit ropey, but it was always essential listening for youngsters before a big night out - they knew their market.
The Lits have done well with mid-market brands like Sunrise Radio - but I think they should let youngsters manage the station on a day-to-day basis.
