Another head quits Multi Screen Media

Sony TV business head quitsAfter the departure of CEO Kunal Dasgupta from Multi Screen Media (MSM), its business head Albert Almeida has now also quit the company.

Almeida, who has been in the role since September 2006, will be announcing his next destination in the coming fortnight.

Almeida has been under pressure to lift Sony Entertainment Television Asia up as it has been losing ground in a tough audience competition environment. Since STAR Plus has led the market on top in 2000, Sony TV has been lagging behind in third/fourth position (after Colors and ZEE TV).

Almeida joined Multi Screen Media (SET India) in 2003 as marketing head of Sony TV.
