ZEE confirms UK telecast of ICL cricket

ICL cricket on ZEE MusicZEE Network UK has announced it will be telecasting Season 2 of the Indian Cricket League on ZEE Music, starting this Friday (10th October).

The cricket tournament backed by Indian media mogul Subhash Chandra of ZEE (Essel) fame will be shown over the next two months. The first part totals to 41 matches being played at four stadiums - Hyderabad, Panchkula, Gurgaon and Ahmedabad. The second part will consist of the World Series starting Friday 21st November.

The nine teams would be lead by the acclaimed players - Ahmedabad Rockets: Damien Martyn, Chandigarh Lions: Chris Cairns, Chennai Superstars: Stuart Law, Delhi Giants: Marvan Atapattu, Dhaka Warriors: Habib Ul Bashar, Hyderabad Heroes: Chris Harris, Lahore Badshahs: Inzamam Ul Haq, Mumbai Champs: Nathan Astle Royal and Bengal Tigers: Craig McMillan.

Says ICL business head Himanshu Mody, "Our success in conceptualising and executing the pioneering league format has met with favourable response from the global cricket fraternity crossing national barriers. We have addressed the growing broadcast demand for the matches by announcing an array of broadcast partners assuring live coverage of ICL Season-2 to the entire global cricket fraternity through both television and Internet mediums."

During break times, ZEE Music will also telecast a sports magazine show dedicated to the ICL called 'Cricket Boom Boom'. It will be presented by Aarti Chabria and ex-Indian pacer Atul Wasan. The show will have high profile celebrities from page 3, Bollywood, fashion designers, TV artists and host of other stars who will be quizzed and tested on all their expertise and cricket.

ZEE Radio will also bring live updates throughout the series for listeners in London and online.
