PTC News bulletins confirm launch date

PTC News has confirmed to BizAsia.co.uk that it will begin broadcasting its Punjabi news bulletins in the UK from later this week.

PTC News bulletins will air four times per day, starting Sunday 10th August. They will broadcast on Music India on Sky Digital EPG 822 at the following times:

08:00
13:00
17:00
21:30

Prashant Chothani, Director & CEO of Music India, spoke to BizAsia.co.uk about this new deal, "Music India serves the latest Bollywood, Asian Pop both Indian as well as British to audiences of the UK. If you look at the local content produced in the UK Asian Music Scene, majority of it is Punjabi Pop.

Since we provide our platform to artists and bands from the UK on Music India, we at Music India felt that there is also a need of quality news from Punjab. Bollywood and Music have been and are the strongest link of connection for the Asians to their culture, roots and homeland, we thought of taking them closer to their homeland too with latest updates on what's happening in their homeland. So we thought of bringing Punjab closer to the UK and since PTC NEWS has the qualitative offering with the perfect perspective for the Punjabi audiences in the UK, it was a perfect match.

It is first time that a frontline free to air channel in the UK is airing news bulletins and we think the audience response is going to positive and encouraging."

PTC News bulletins on Music India will be shown delayed live in the UK.
