Colors announces launch of 'Bigg Boss'

The newly launched channel Colors is leaving no stone unturned for its big ticket property 'Bigg Boss' - the Indian version of the world renowned 'Big Brother' series.

'Bigg Boss 2' launches on Colors on Sunday 17th August and will dominate the channel's schedule with a daily episode nightly at 22:00 plus a live unedited episode at 00:30 every day.

The reality show will run for three months and as previously reported, Shilpa Shetty will host the show after her successful stint in the UK version last year.

Colors CEO Rajesh Kamat said, "This format show has a loyal audience. Moreover, there are viewers who want something outside soaps. We will be trying to grab the eyeballs of such viewers."

This is the first time Colors will show the series. The first season was aired on Sony Entertainment Television Asia. 14 contestants have been confirmed to take part who will compete for a cash prize of Rs 750,000.

Like the UK series, an eviction will take place every Friday. Saturdays would offer the spin off episode, while the Sunday episode will be used for unseen footage branded as 'Andekha Masala'.

With Colors not being available in the UK yet, it is currently unknown if the show will be screened here.
