Brit-Asian magazine editor steps down

Ikonz editor Reena Combo leavesReena Combo, the editor of Brit-Asian magazine Ikonz has left with immediate effect.

The 26-year old from Wolverhampton refused to divulge details about her departure from the magazine stating that they were "personal".

In 2006, Reena left her post as Entertainment Editor of Desi Xpress. Later that same year, she went on to launch Ikonz - a desi equivalent to Heat.

During her 18-month tenure with Ikonz, Reena has managed to lap-up many firsts including interviews with Bollywood and Brit-Asian celebrities. The magazine was also named the only ethnic media partner at the Birmingham Clothes Show last month.

Reena left her post as editor of Ikonz yesterday. She told us that it was a difficult choice but it was something that she has been mulling over for the past few months. She is currently taking time out before deciding on her next career move.

It is not yet known who will replace Reena at Ikonz and moreover whether the magazine has a future.

You can read an interview with Reena Combo that was published on BizAsia.co.uk in October here.
