Confirmed: ZEE Music to show ICL cricket

ZEE Music to show ICL cricketThe much talked about cricket tournament of this year, the ZEE backed Indian Cricket League (ICL) has been confirmed for UK telecast on ZEE Music free-to-air.

The ICL is the unofficial Indian team. Its mission is to create a pool of high quality ideal cricketers with killer instinct needed to be champions.

ICL’s structure consists of six highly competitive teams representing the entire geography of India – Delhi Jets, Chandigarh Lions, Mumbai Champs, Hyderabad Heroes, Kolkata Tigers and Chennai Super Stars.

According to ZEE, "To make the cricket action thrilling each of the six teams will play another as per the league format. What’s more...They will be the ever favourite Twenty20 format!"

Captains for teams representing their geographical territories include international cricketers such as Brian Lara, Inzamam, Craig McMillan and many more.

Group Chairman Subhash Chandra said, "It is not in conflict with the BCCI but is complementary to it." Chandra said the league will have an initial corpus of Rs 100 crore and each of the six teams would be coached by an ex-India player.

In the UK, ZEE Music will telecast the games using pictures from its sister station ZEE Sports. The channel will also showcase pre, post and half time shows.

The schedule for the matches is below:
