Sony TV acquires more Yash Raj movies

Sony Entertainment Television Asia has bought the rights of five more movies from India's leading production house Yash Raj Films.

It’s already common knowledge that Sony TV holds the rights of all movies from the Yash Raj movie library. Today, it has been confirmed the channel will also be broadcasting the recently released movies 'Jhoom Barabar Jhoom', 'Chak De India' and 'Laga Chunri Mein Daag'. Further good news for Madhuri Dixit fans, the channel has picked up exclusive telecast rights of her comeback movie 'Aaja Nachle', which releases at cinemas next month. 'Tara Rum Pum' is the fifth movie a part of the deal, which gets its UK premiere this weekend.

Commenting on the acquisition SET India CEO Kunal Dasgupta says, "These acquisitions underline the fact that we believe in bringing only the biggest and the best of entertainment to our viewers. This also reaffirms the strong relationship we share with eminent producer-director Yash Chopra since well over a decade. We are proud that the association continues on and here’s hoping for many more!"

Says Yash Chopra, "I have shared an excellent relationship with SET over the last 11 years and in continuation of that association we have finalized this five film deal with SET."
