Urdu current affairs channel Geo News International has begun testing on Sky Digital, ahead of its official EPG launch.

As announced exclusively on BizAsia.co.uk last week, Geo News International is gearing to launch mid-November.

This will be third channel from the Geo bouquet after the huge success of its flagship entertainment and information channel Geo UK and its youth channel Aag.

Geo News International will broadcast live bulletins round the clock directly from Pakistan. After the departure of ARY One World from UK screens, Geo News will be the only rolling Urdu news channel in the UK.

According to our sources, Geo News International will be launching anytime between Monday 12th November to Thursday 15th November. A Sky EPG number will be announced soon.

In the meantime full video and audio testing can be tuned in by following the steps below:

-> Using your Sky Digi remote, go to Services Menu
-> System Setup (4)
-> Add Channels (4)
-> Enter the frequency: 11.546 (H), FEC 2/3, Symbol Rate 27500
-> Find Channels and Press SELECT
-> Highlight "50405" service and press Yellow button.
-> Return to Services Menu
-> Other Channels (6) on STB / (8) on Sky+
-> "50405" should be listed and available
