More presenters leave London's Club Asia

Veena V leaves Club AsiaTwo more DJs have left London's popular radio station Club Asia in a space of two weeks.

Veena V, who has been with the youthful sounding Club Asia presented her last show on Thursday (20th September). She was expected to finish with the station yesterday (21st September) but a last minute management decision prevented her to do that.

According to press speculation, Club Asia management pulled Veena's last show off air due to inside information being leaked by someone to another online publication.

The twenty year old started off her radio career at a local Oxford station on work experience. She had been with Club Asia fronting her own show for two years.

She told BizAsia.co.uk, "Since I’ve been 16 I’ve been working constantly and extremely hard to make a name for myself in the radio industry. I will now be taking a break as I haven’t had one for 4 years! I’m looking forward to new challenges I will be facing when I re-launch myself onto a commercial, mainstream station in the near future. I’m overwhelmed and overtly grateful for all the positive feedback I have been receiving about my presenting and I hope this continues for many years to come."

Veena V joins the recently departed Jas 'The Man' (Rao) and Noreen Khan, both who have defected to rival BBC Asian Network. Ray Khan also left Club Asia earlier this month.

There's also confirmation that the Weekend Breakfast presenter Bali Kaur will too be leaving later this year. She has been with Club Asia since December 2005. She joined the station as a replacement for the late night talk show 'No Holds Barred'.

Away from presenters, events organiser Mandeep Nandra, will be leaving in November to work on other projects. Before Club Asia, Mandeep worked at advertising agency Media Moguls.
