Aaj Tak to launch on Sky Digital in August

Aaj Tak to launch 6th AugustIndia's leading news broadcaster Aaj Tak will be launching on Sky Digital next month, it’s been confirmed.

As revealed exclusively on BizAsia.co.uk earlier this year, the channel has been looking at launching on Sky for a number of months but was "awaiting the right time" in the already saturated UK Asian TV market.

Aaj Tak is owned by the TV Today Network, which also runs Headlines Today, Tez and Dilli Aaj Tak in India.

The channel has constantly topped ratings in India since its official launch as a 24-hour service in 2000. Aaj Tak's slogan of being "Sabse Tez" meaning "Always first" has made it a firm favourite amongst TV viewers.

Aaj Tak has been given the date of Monday 6th August for its launch on Sky Digital, which means tests of the channel are expected any day now before its EPG launch.

Aaj Tak has only recently been added to the World TV package, which is available in Europe (excluding UK). Other channels available on the platform are STAR Plus, STAR Gold, STAR One, Sahara One, Sony Entertainment Television, SET Max, Sahara Filmy, Geo, Aag, Channel Punjab, Channel S, and now Aaj Tak.
