SET MAX to launch Sahara channels in UK

MAX to launch Sahara channelsSET MAX has confirmed that it will be launching Sahara One and Filmy next Monday (18th June).

The two new channels will be available as a part of a new package on Sky Digital called 'MAX MIX', which is MAX's strategy to bolster its own movies and entertainment channel in the UK.

Sahara One is one of India's most popular entertainment channels. It is associated with top production houses and offers its viewers a large number of popular fiction and non-fiction shows.

Filmy is Sahara's movies and showbiz channel. It launched in India in February 2006 and has an interesting, funny and irreverent presentation format.

Rajan Singh, Executive Vice President commented, "I am proud of the success of MAX since its launch. It was only natural for us to build on this and as one of the pioneers of this industry 'MAX MIX' is the perfect way to evolve. This means that quality choice coupled with value for money will appeal to a wider range of consumers across the South Asian community. Soon we will bring even more choice to the bouquet."

Adris Chakraborty, Director of Globosat Entertainment said "We are thrilled to launch Sahara One and Filmy in the UK market and are very optimistic that viewers are going to enjoy what both channels have to offer. Sahara One & Filmy are committed to offering high quality family entertainment for our South Asian audience."

“Launching Sahara One and Filmy via satellite in the UK for the first time is just the first step towards our goals of delivering the best of Bollywood in a unique way. We are excited to be a part of this fantastic new MAX MIX bouquet.” added Sudhir Vaishnav President & CEO of Globosat Entertainment a leader in content distribution worldwide.

SET MAX will be offering Sky Digital viewers the 'MAX MIX' bouquet at £9.99 per month. The channels will be free-to-view from Monday 18th June up until Monday 2nd July, where all three channels will only be available via subscription. This offer only applies to viewers on Sky Digital.
