Tony Lit to step down as MD of Sunrise Radio?

Tony Lit's future at Sunrise Radio?Popular London station Sunrise Radio could be in for a change if its Managing Director Tony Lit wins a local by-election in mid-July.

On Thursday (28th June), Tony Lit was selected as Conservative's candidate to fight the Ealing Southall by-election.

Commenting on his selection Tony Lit said, "I'm delighted to be the Conservative Party candidate for Ealing Southall. Under David Cameron's leadership this is a party that recognises people from all backgrounds.

"I look forward to working hard for the people of Ealing and Southall, a community I have served for 10 years as a local business leader and volunteer on Southall regeneration projects."

Speaking during a visit to Southall, David Cameron said, "I am delighted that we have selected Tony Lit, he is an outstanding candidate. Having worked in Southall for nearly a decade he really does understand and represent the needs of the local community."

Jason Spacey, Leader of Ealing Borough council, said: "Tony is a great local candidate, known in both Ealing and Southall. He will be a real asset as an MP, standing up for the local community."

The by-election was triggered by the death of Britain's oldest MP Piara Khabra who died at the age of 82.

The election takes place on Thursday 19th July.

A question mark hangs over Tony Lit's future at Sunrise Radio. If successful at the election, he will have to step down as Managing Director of Sunrise Radio.
