Vishal Shekhar to judge 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa'

Vishal Shekhar lined up for new Challenge 2007Bollywood music duo Vishal and Shekhar have been selected to judge the new series of 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa - Challenge 2007'.

Vishal and Shekhar have had huge successes in the last few years with 'Salaam Namaste', 'Dus', 'Bluffmaster' and 'Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd'.

Popular music director of the 80s Bappi Lahiri, as well as music directors Himesh Reshammiya and Ismail Darbar will also be the judges on the show this year, according to the channel.

The auditions will be held in Mumbai on 19th March 2007. The contestants will get an opportunity to perform in the presence of Vishal - Shekhar, who will take their pick of the finalists from the West zone.

This year, the show will also allow contestants from Dubai, New York, London, South Africa and four cities in Pakistan. Local judges will screen candidates for the contest, a channel release adds.

Last month, Himesh Reshammiya attended the ZEE Carnival event in London to judge potential contestents for the new series.

'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa - Challenge 2007' begins on ZEE TV UK in May. Rival Sony Entertainment Television Asia will be launching its own singing talent show 'Indian Idol'. It recently announced the judges for its third series including Anu Malik, Udit Narayan and Alisha Chinai.
