Himesh to judge for ZEE or Sony?

Popular singer/musician and actor Himesh Reshammiya seems to be tangled in a media war over two of India's much loved reality TV shows.

There have been talks about Himesh Reshammiya replacing Sonu Nigam on Sony Entertainment Television Asia's 'Indian Idol' when it begins in April. Sonu opted out of the programme when he found out the channel had plans to rope in Himesh as one of the judges for the new series.

While Himesh has been linked with Sony's 'Indian Idol', Himesh Reshammiya was seen judging a few wannabes at the ZEE Carnival in London for the upcoming series of 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa: Challenge 2007', which is due to start at around the same time as 'Indian Idol'.

Himesh was previously a judge on 'Challenge 2006', which proved a mammoth hit for the channel. There's also reports suggesting Himesh and music director Ismail Darbar will go head to head as mentors in 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa: Challenge 2007'. Surely Himesh can't be selected as judge for both of these rival shows?

With the way things have shaped up, it looks like Sony TV will have to find an alternative to judge its 'Indian Idol' as Himesh looks quite comfortable with his association with ZEE TV.

Keep it here.
