B4U acquires 35 films from Sahara One Media

B4U Movies is in revamp mode with the signing of around 35 films from Sahara One Media and Entertainment Ltd for its feeds in the UK, US, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Mauritius and Canada. The deal does not include India telecast.

Recently, the channel has fallen in popularity stakes due to immense competition from ZEE Cinema and MAX. Even though today's deal is a step in the right direction, it still has long way to go to spruce up its mundane look.

B4U Movies was the first 24 hours movies channel in the UK and became an instant hit. A few years later, B4U has had several management changes, which has affected the output of the channel.

Today's acquisitions include blockbuster movies such as Hanuman, Sarkar, Page 3 and many others. It is also to be noted that the Rs. 15m deal struck is a non-exclusive one, which means other international broadcasters are also free to telecast the movies. The likes of ZEE Network, STAR Plus, Venus TV and MATV have already screened a majority of the movies scooped by B4U today.
