Sony acquires three more Yashraj films

The close tie between SET Asia and production house Yashraj Films has become even more evident with Sony grabbing the rights of three more Yashraj films.

As reported previously here, Sony already holds the rights of Yashraj Films' extensive blockbuster movie library including films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Silsila, Kabhi Kabhie, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kal Ho Naa Ho and Veer Zaara.

Now the bond between the two has strengthened further with the broadcaster grabbing hold of rights for the last three Yashraj films from last year.

To boost the presence of its movies and events channel MAX worldwide, the channel will be screening last year's magnum opus Bunty Aur Bubbly and Salaam Namaste, which proved a massive hit internationally. The channel will also be screening the movie Neal and Nikki, which proved a dud at the box office. All three films will share telecast with flagship channel Sony Entertainment Television Asia.
