Missy D to leave Club Asia; Ray C takesover

Missy D leaves Club AsiaClub Asia is the latest in line to change its programming schedule with the announcment that its breakfast presenter MissyD is taking a break from radio next month.

The loud and proud queen of breakfast radio will take off the time to concentrate on other projects. MissyD will hang up her headphones on Friday 18th February.

Sumerah Ahmad, Programming Director at Club Asia says, “The personality that is MissyD was born out of Club Asia and has grown along with the station’s launch in 2003. The relationship between Club Asia and Missy will continue to remain strong as we have a future project in the pipeline. We wish her the very best”.

So what is MissyD going to be up to? “Catching up on my sleep and I hear the M6 needs a break from me going up and down from Coventry and London”, adds MissyD laughingly, “but seriously I’m going to be focusing on my music career, writing, Club nights, and much more but I can’t give everything away just yet; and not forgetting I’ve still got to find my perfect man”, says MissyD.

Rumours were doing the rounds that MissyD was to join the BBC Asian Network, which also is going through a revamp. But today's news denies this.

The new breakfast show will be launched on Monday 20th February with Ray C.
