Ashish quits ZEE TV, ZEE News UK in major changes

EXCLUSIVE: In another exclusive scoop for Biz Asia, we can reveal that one of ZEE TV's longest serving presenter Ashish Joshi is quitting the popular channel to pursue other projects.

An insider at the channel, who wishes to remain anonymous also told us that with Ashish leaving the channel, the British Asian bulletins-ZEE News Extra will be scrapped at the end of this month.

The major structure changes within the network are taking place in response to increasing competition from rival channels. Ashish Joshi joined ZEE TV, during the days of TV Asia in 1994.

Another well known news face Anita Anand quit ZEE TV last year who's move to a BBC radio station has proved successful. It is believed that the UK bulletins will be replaced with a longer bulletin direct from parent channel ZEE News.

An official confirmation from ZEE Network is expected soon with an announcement of many new competitive moves that will only strengthen the network's presence in the UK.
