Discussion: Asians and Media

Discussion: Asians and Media
on Wednesday 23rd January at 18:30

Television and film play a very important role in the cultural and economic life of Britain and it is crucial that these industries are representative of the nation's rich cultural and ethnic mix, both on and off-screen. Britain's Asian community is under-represented in the media industry. Their inclusion will make the industry stronger and the output more attractive to a wider world audience.

Talking about the hows and wherfore's of making the industry stronger and the output more attractive to a wider world audience are: Renu Patel - filmmaker, producer, Mary Fitzpatrick (TBC) - Editorial Manager Cultural Diversity BBC, and Sanjay Shabi - Director Culture for Media Com, will talk about the various aspects and then open the floor for the press. Co-ordinator/Moderator Sangita Pandey.

The event is free and open to individuals from the UK media.

It takes place at the Nehru Centre, South Audley Street, London, W1K 1HF.
