Monday 29th August

Zenab is back and already making an impression…she shocks Rozena by pulling out two engagement rings she bought in Pakistan - she’ll hand them over tonight and they can make a special evening of it for Mushtaq. For once Rozena is lost for words…

Imran, meanwhile, vents his frustration on Jas - it’s already like Zenab’s never been away! Jas can only vaguely remember her and Imran says he needs time to suss out how she will react to them being together.

Back at the Jilanis, Zenab fusses around getting things ready for the evening. Mushtaq comments on how strange it is with them both back in the house but Zenab refuses to think about the past.

Tuesday 30th August

What is Zenab up to?

It’s the first day of Rita’s work experience with the police , she quickly realises she should have thought more about the unsociable hours and if she’ll be able to be as impartial as she should be - a worrying first day.

At the Jilanis, Rozena finds her mum chatting to Sameer’s mum on the phone about wedding dates, she’s not amused

Mushtaq looks better and is determined to get out but Imran insists that he take it easy. Zenab offers to help making Imran suspicious, what if she came to check on how much Mushtaq is worth? Maybe she thought he was dying…?

Wednesday 31st August

The Chauhans throw a party for Rita and Pradeep’s anniversary

Rita and Pradeep are driving home after having lunch out to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary. They get back to a silent house but are startled by a noise from the garden…..

Arun tells Zak he’s signed up for a BTEC in Peforming Arts, specialising in Music Technology - he’s going to be a professional DJ! He wants Zak to sign up too but Zak’s too attached to his pay packet.

Worried about her brother Jai’s attitude towards her Mother - Kamla, Rita accuses of him of having his eye on Kamla’s money but Jai gives as good as he gets: he remembers when she got drunk at the club. What would Pradeep say if he knew…?!

Thursday 1st September

Kamla can’t decide what to do with her money…

She wants her and Jai to do something together but Jai doesn’t sound very keen. Rita sarcastically says she can just imagine him sitting behind the counter! Rita reminds her Mum that there is another option - a share in Saffron Ray’s. It would be a big break for all of them

Over at the Jilanis, Imran comes downstairs to face a barrage of questions from Zenab, his mum - who is he going to see all dressed up? Rozena, his sister stirs things up by calling him handsome whihch doesn’t help.

Friday 2nd September

Zak plans to celebrate his 19th birthday like a man...

With the boys, he heads into town where they spot Jaggy Singh in the queue.

Meanwhile, Rita is watching TV at home when Roopa comes downstairs. She can’t sleep and asks Rita if she can sit with her for a while. Rita gives her cuddle asks if she’s sure she’s OK. Roopa just keeps on insisting she’s fine…
