Pakistan’s newest Urdu entertainment channel, A Plus has begun testing fully with video and tests, ahead of its launch on Sky in the UK.
The tests are currently running programmes as per broadcast. As revealed first on BizAsiaLive.com, A Plus will officially begin broadcasting when it launches on the Sky EPG on Monday 23rd January. The channel will be handled in the UK by Evolution.
A Plus will be entering an already competitive market where the likes of Hum TV, Geo TV and ARY Digital are already fighting for audiences. While viewership for Hum TV has dropped considerably since it launched, Geo TV has gathered pace. ARY Digital currently is not registered with audience measuring body, BARB.
It was also revealed earlier today on BizAsiaLive.com that Pakistan’s Urdu1 has obtained a licence from media regulator, Ofcom for a UK launch.
